Description
Richard of Lincoln and Matilda, daughter and heir of Anselm of Mow, his wife, have granted and by this their charter established to Kelso Abbey, in free, pure and perpetual alms, sufficient pasture for 700 sheep and 25 cows in the pasture of their fief of Mow (ROX), with certain specified liberties and restrictions. Additionally, the monks may have entrance and exit from the land of the church, and because the monks remitted to Anselm and his heirs the teinds of his mill, and Richard and Matilda remitted and quitclaimed to Kelso their multure in perpetuity. They also give them the right to grind wherever they may wish, unless the grain of the lord himself may be there, and Richard of Lincoln, along with Matilda, his wife, daughter and heir of Anselm, affirm all the aforesaid in the hands of Osbert abbot of Kelso.
