Description
Richard de Moreville, constable of the king of Scotland, and Avicia, his wife, has given and by this present charter established to Melrose Abbey, by the consent and good will of William, their son and heir, in free, pure and perpetual alms, for the salvation of their lord, William, king of Scotland, and their souls, and for the souls of their fathers, mothers, ancestors and successors, the chapel of Park on Leader (ROX) with the whole court pertaining to the chapel, by stated bounds, and the whole land of ‘Milcheside’ (in Melrose, ROX) by stated bounds, which include the land of the monks and the land of Richard and Avicia’s infirm of ‘Bune’, just as Sir Jocelin, bishop of Glasgow, and the cellarer of Melrose perambulated, free and quit from forinsec and terrestrial service and all secular exaction. Additionally, the monks, for the love of God and the infirm of ‘Bune’, grant that they will provide for the Richard and Avicia’s infirm in the territory of ‘Milcheside’.
