Description
Anselm of Mow has given and by this his present charter established to Melrose Abbey, for the souls of his lords, King David, Earl Henry, King Malcolm and for the salvation of his lord, William, king of Scots, and for the soul of himself, his wife and all his ancestors and successors, by the consent and assent of his heirs, part of the land in the territory of Mow (ROX) which is near the land of the monks of Melrose at the southern part of the mountain of Hownam, by stated bounds. And King William, his lord, for the love of God and the salvation of his soul and his ancestors, granted and by his charter established the aforsaid land to the monks. And Anselm and his heirs will acquit the land of forinsec and all terrestrial service and all other services [owed] towards the lord king and towards all his other lords.

Dating Notes
Several of the individuals who appear in the witness list also appear in _Melrose Liber_, i, no. 134. Peter persona of Morbattle appears between 1175 and 1186 (_SEA_, i, no. 103; _Glasgow Registrum_, no. 48. Charter certainly produced before _RRS_, ii, no. 240)
