Description
John son of Bertram of Little Reston, for the health of his soul, and of his ancestors' and successors', has given and granted and made firm by this his present charter to St Cuthbert and St Ebbe, to Prior Roger of Coldingham and the monks of Durham at Coldingham one meadow situated on the (River) Eye in the territory of Little Reston, which is called 'Linthaluh'; to hold and have in perpetuity in pure and free and perpetual alms, freely, quietly, honourably, just as any alms are held within the kingdom of Scotland.
