Description
David Ruffus of Forfar has given [granted and by this his charter established?] to Coupar Angus Abbey for the welfare of the body and soul of his lord King William and of his son Alexander, his land of Kincreich (ANG) that was Adam’s, by its right bounds by which he held it from Adam son of Abraham of Lour, with his consent and charter of confirmation, with a certain part of the territory of Lour (ANG), which Adam gave him for its increase, by stated bounds, in free and perpetual alms, rendering annually to the aforesaid Adam 1 ½ marks, one mark and 40d. at Pentecost and one mark and 40d. at Martinmas, for all service and custom and exaction, saving the forinsec service of the lord king, as much as it pertains to a davoch of Kincreich, and as much as pertains to the tenth part of two davochs in Lour, as contained in Adam’s charter. Attested and sealed by Sir John, Cardinal of St Stephen’s in Celio Monte.
