Description
Philip de Maleville and his spouse, Eva, daughter of Walter, son of Sibbald, for the welfare of the souls of Kings David and Malcolm and Earl Henry father of their lord king William, and for the welfare of that lord (king William), and of their lady, Ermengarde, queen of Scots, and of Alexander their son, have given, granted and by this their charter established, to Arbroath Abbey, all that land which Walter son of Sibald gave Philip in marriage with his daughter, when they were married (Abbeyton KCD), as perambulated by him in the presence of Walter Scott and Philip’s father G[regory?] de Maleville and Duncan of Arbuthnott and Harvey of Pitskillie and others, and with common pasture of Mondynes (KCD). To hold in free, pure and perpetual alms, free from army and expedition service and all aids, gelds, works and wards, and from all pleas and complaints, from all custom, service and secular exaction.
