Description
An agreement is formed between John son of Theobald brother of Humphrey of Berkeley, on one side, and Abbot Gilbert and the convent of Arbroath on the other, whereby John has granted and quitclaimed to the abbot and convent the lands in the Mearns that King William gave to Humphrey of Berkeley, namely Newlands (‘Culbac’), Kinkell, Monboddo, Tipperty and Glenfarquhar towards the west (all in Fordoun parish, KCD), for an annual render as Pentecost of 4 marks and a further 13 marks from the mill of Conveth (KCD) after the death of Richenda daughter of Humphrey.
