Document 2/8/49 (Moray Reg., no. 134)
- Description
- David, bishop of Moray, has given, granted and by this his present charter established to William of Inverlochy, son and heir of Thomas of Inverlochy, four oxgangs of land, with their pertinents, in the villa of Inverlochy (MOR), concerning which Thomas, his father, gave up livery and sasine. William and his heirs are to hold and have [the land] from the bishop and his successors, just as Thomas, his father, held the four oxgangs of land at the time of his death. Thomas is to render to the bishop one pair of white Parisian gloves every year, or three pennies of sterling at the feast of Pentecost, and he is to provide the forensic service which pertains to the four oxgangs of land, as to the mill of Inverlochy. He is also to provide suit at the bishop’s court during any year for the three chapter pleas. The bishop reserves any right whatsover [which belongs to him].
