Description
At the same place [Clunie], on the same day [28 June 1296], in the presence of the same witnesses and of the Notary, Eustace of Bickerton, rector of the church of Auchtermuchty, arrived at the trust and goodwill of the lord king of England of his own free will; and he annulled any alliances etc., if any, entered into with the king of the French on the part of the king of Scots or his noblemen and the inhabitants of the same kingdom, against the said lord king of England; and having taken hold of and kissed the holy gospels, he performed fealty to the king of England, and in respect of the fealty performed, he made his letters patent, sealed with his own pendant seal.
