Description
An agreement is made between William of Maule on the one hand, and Ralph of Dundee on the other, viz. that William is to procure for Ralph and his heirs a confirmation [charter] of lord King, [and] that the charter of William, concerning the lands relinquished to Ralph, may be inserted into the confirmation of the lord king of Scotland (i.e. an inspeximus), and Ralph will make quit William and his heirs of the seventeen sacks of wool, which sacks William is being held to release to Geoffrey of Venali, burgess of Dundee, with all payments and expenses to accrued all the way until this day and beyond; [and] Ralph and his heirs, or his assignees, will render to William, his heirs or his assignees, fifty marks of good and legal sterling if he provides the aforesaid.
