Description
Brian fitz Alan, keeper of the castle of Roxburgh and of Jedburgh, has received from Richard, the clerk, twelve pounds of sterling from the escheats of the king on the southern part of the Firth of Forth, on behalf of the Sir Alexander de Balliol, chamberlain of Scotland, and Master Robert Heron, rector of the church of Ford, [who was made] an associate to the same chamberlain by the lord king of England, overlord of Scotland, as part of the payment of his wages for the custody of the castles of Roxburgh and Jedburgh.
