Description
The king declares that as it was found by inquest in his father’s reign, returned to the wardrobe, and by his own command brought before the council to try the credit of Malise, earl of Strathearn, that he had been loyal to his father, and was therefore acquitted at Westminster of ‘male fame’; he grants the earl free ‘de sei’ in everything and discharges him and his mainpernors to date, that is, Patrick, earl of Dunbar, Robert Thony, Alexander of Abernethy, and Henry Sinclair, of one mainprise not to pass the Tweed and of another by the said Henry Sinclair and William Bisset as far as the Tyne.
