Description
The king pardons John de Bassingburne, the late sheriff of Essex, for letting Hugh Oliphant, a Scottish prisoner, escape from the castle of Colchester while in his custody; as he pursued Hugh so manfully that he retook and lodged him again in the castle where he is now.
