- Description
- Robert, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful James, lord of Douglas, knight, for his homage and service, his land of Buittle in Galloway (KCB), by stated bounds, except Corbieton and the lands of Patrick mac Gibbothyn, holding in free and quit barony in feu and heritage, with sake and soke, toll and team, pit and gallows, infangenthef and utfangenthef, and with the rights of patronage of churches, and the liberty of burgh, and sea wrecks, with anchorages, ports, with fishings, ponds, mills, huntings, aeries of birds, etc. He also grants that none of his officers, bailies or sergeands may take prises, captions, and carriages, with a judicial franchise excluding the four pleas of the crown; rendering one pair of gilt spurs on Christmas at Traquair for all service, ward, relief, marriage, suit of court and any other secular demand.
