Privy seal of the abbot of Scone, used in the time of Abbot Nicholas. This single-sided seal consists of a pointed oval compartment divided horizontally into two equal parts. In the upper, the coronation of the Virgin is shown, with a star in the apex; the lower is divided vertically into two, and in the *dexter* is a figure kneeling to *sinister* and holding a crozier, while in the *sinister* is Saint Michael, front face, spearing a dragon.
