Notes
This is described by Stevenson and Wood as Roger’s second seal, and double-sided. The date of c.1220 ascribed to the only surviving image of the seal and counterseal, a photo archived at Magdalen College, Oxford, suggests otherwise, as do the dimensions of the supposed reverse of the seal, which is significantly smaller than those pertaining to this seal.
Dimensions: 2 ½ in. diameter.
