John XI, pope (d.935 or 936)

Biography
Kelly, Oxford Dictionary of Popes, 123: John was a Roman whose mother was Marozia (d.after 932), a patrician and senatrix, and whose father was almost certain Pope Sergius III. By his early twenties he was already cardinal priest of Sta Maria in Trastevere and succeeded Pope Stephen VII in February or March 931. In December 932, he was imprisoned by his half-brother, Prince Alberic II of Rome (d.954), though he seems to have been released from prison and kept under house arrest in the Lateran. He died in December 935 or January 936.
