[COLDINGHAM EXTENT CONT.] COLDINGHAM (BWK): The Priory is not taxed. There are in demesne ten ploughgates of land, of which five ploughgates are worth yearly 8 pounds 6 shilling and 8 pence, and the other five ploughgates are worth yearly 66s 8d; 8 oxgangs in a ploughgate; 13 acres in an oxgang. And there is a separate pasture containing 80 acres, worth 40s yearly. There are 40 acres of meadow, which can be mowed in any year, and which are worth 18d per acre. The waste is to be ignored, because it is without number. There are two mills, worth yearly ten pounds, and there is a fishery, worth yearly ten shillings. And there is a glebe for the sustenance of the house; peats and heather for the sustenance of the house. Wood is not to be sold. There are two aeries of falcons not to be sold. The church is 'in proprios usos' (for their own uses) and is surveyed at ten pounds. BONDAGES: In bondage are 14 ploughgates of land, each worth 20s per year. There are 11 cottages, each worth 12d per year. There is a common oven worth 3s per year. There is a tollhouse with the port of Eyemouth worth yearly 6s 8d. The brewhouse is worth yearly 20s.
