Description
Roland son of Uhtred has granted, and established by his charter, to Holm Cultram Abbey the land it held of Walter of Berkeley, chamberlain of the king of Scotland, by its right bounds, as the great way comes from the bridge of ‘Pollatkertin’ and goes until ‘Letegilultan’ and as the aforesaid way extends itself toward the oak cross near ‘Cloenchonethro’, and as the valley goes into the wood to a certain ditch, and as that goes into ‘Poladkertin’ (in Kirkgunzeon ph., KCB), in free, pure and perpetual alms, as contained in the charter of Walter of Berkeley.
