Description
M[alise], earl of Strathearn, to his beloved sworn man, Brice, thane of Dunning, informing him that he has assigned 20 marks from his rents at Dunning (PER), half at Pentecost, half at Martinmas, to Inchaffray Abbey, and commanding him to make payment of this sum to the canons or their assignees, and not to the earl’s bailies. If payment is not made within eight days of the two terminals, he will incur a penalty of 20s. for every week after the eighth day.
