Document 2/139/97 (Cal. Papal Letters, i, 104)

Description
Pope Honorius III writes to the king of Scotland requesting, on petition of Aliz, a widow, banished from that realm, that she may return to her own again. The king has already, at the pope’s request, restored her goods, but because he had sworn, after the manner of an angry man, that she should never re-enter his kingdom, she is still unable to profit by his lenity.
