Description
Gilbert Avenel, knight and heir of Cecilia daughter of Eschina, late lady of Mow, has granted and established by this his charter to Kelso Abbey in free pure and perpetual alms, all the lands, meadows and pastures, and all other possessions with all their pertinents and rights which the said Cecilia, daughter of Lady Eschina gave, granted and established in her widowhood and lawful power, in the territory of Mow (ROX), as her charter fully attests, as given word for word here (Kel. Lib., no. 157; 3/421/12).
