Description
William of Hauekeriston, Ada, William’s wife, Richard of Hauekeriston, Emma, Richard’s wife, John of Montgomery and Helen, John’s wife, heirs of Robert of Kent, have given at feuferme in perpetuity and have established by this their charter to Kelso Abbey, their land, wood and pasture which belongs to them and their heirs, namely, two parts of Innerwick (ELO), by stated bounds which include the land of the monks of Kelso, free and quit from all service, from ‘inware’ and ‘utware’ and from other aids, customs and exactions, for an annual render in perpetuity of one merk at the feast of St James, with specified freedoms and restrictions.
