Adam of Glasgow, burgess of burgh of Berwick-on-Tweed, gave, granted and by this his present charter established to Melrose Abbey those ten acres of arable land which are called ‘Hiddeslawe’ in the tenement of Bondington near Berwick (BWK) on the Tweed with free entrance and exit, by its correct and ancient bounds between the lands of the nuns of Berwick and the house of Saint Mary Magdalene towards the east and the land of abbot and convent of Kelso, with further stated bounds, in pure and perpetual alms, with all the liberties, commodities and easements at the aforesaid ten acres of land within the villa of Bondington.
