Description
Hugh Malherbe has given, granted, and by this his charter established to Thomas of Rossie, son of Robert of Rossie, all his lands of Rossie (ANG), ‘Milnetun’, ‘Hulhysham’, ‘Balstuth’ (ANG?), except the lands which he gave to Henry of Rossie in marriage with his sister, and except the lands which he gave to Liolf for his homage and service, and except the lands which he gave in alms to the hospital of Montrose, holding of him in feuferme in perpetuity, rendering annually one mark, half at Pentecost and half at Martinmas, for all secular service, action and demand, saving the forinsec service of the lord king. And know that for the aforesaid feuferme donation, Thomas of Rossie gave Hugh £40 in his great necessity. He has sword in the hand of Sir Albin, bishop of Brechin.
