Description
Thomas de Somerville, knight, having obtained the trust and friendship of his lord, Edward, king of England etc., promises for himself and his heirs, upon pain of body and property etc., that they shall support the king, and serve him well and loyally against all mortal men, whenever they are called upon or summoned; and that they shall not know their harm, that they shall not trouble them, to the best of their ability. And to hold and keep these things, he binds himself and his heirs, and all his goods, and he has sworn on the holy gospels.
