John of Johnstone, the late son of Hugh of Johnstone, has resigned, and additionally quitclaimed, his whole land of Johnstone (now Johnstounburn, Humbie parish, ELO), with all the liberties and easements at the land, within and without it, to Robert the marischal of Keith following the agreements, charters and compositions, stamped with authentic seals, [which were made] between the master and brothers of the house of Soutra and John of Johnstone, through the license of Robert Marischal, lord of Keith. [The quitclaim is made] for the advantage and utilization of the house of Soutra [and is the result] of an exchange of the land of 'Qwhythorp', which the master and brothers held, for the land of Johnstone, formerly [held by John].
