Document 1/53/45 (RRS, v, no. 40)

Description
To the very honorable prince, lord Edward, king of England, Robert, king of Scotland sends greetings, honour and reverence. Know sir that the thing we desire most is that we may have complete agreement and friendship from you and to see how and in what way agreement and friendship could be between us. We wish to be informed hastily and by our power. And we pray that you give credence to Brother Ralph of Chilton, bearer of this letter, of what he will tell you from us. And by the said Brother Ralph your will shall be made known to us. May God keep you. Done at Faryngleghe the 5th day of September [1314].
