Description
In the year 1294, at the feast of the Holy Trinity, an agreement was made between the abbot and convent of Melrose and the abbot and convent of Holm Cultram, viz.: that Melrose granted and leased at feu-ferme to Holm Cultram their whole land of Rainpatrick (DMF), with the fisheries and saltpans, etc. Holm Cultram is to render to Melrose half a mark of silver in the house of Holm Cultram when the house of Holm Cultram may have been visited by the abbot of Melrose or his commissary every year. Melrose Abbey promises warrandice.
