Description
Boniface VIII writes to Adam, bishop of Caithness, noting how the church of Caithness in Scotland has been without a pastor since the death of Alan, bishop of Caithness. J[ohn], archdeacon of Caithness was elected by the chapter of the same church, but the pope having examined the election declared it void. He therefore appoints Adam, then precentor of the church of Ross, to be bishop of Caithness. H[ugh], bishop of Ostia is ordered to consecrated Adam. Concurrent letters to the chapter of Caithness; to the people of the community and diocese and to the king of Scotland
