Letter from Henry de Percy, king’s lieutenant in counties of Dumfries, Wigtown and Ayr, to James de Dalilegh. He intends to make a raid towards Ayr and Carrick, to grieve the king’s enemies as much as he can, but cannot attract men of these counties into his company without payment. Accordingly orders Dalilegh to pay wages to those who go in his company, and also to aid Sir Robert Clifford and Sir John de St John with money and victuals on account of wages due to them and their men at arms. Allowance will be made in Dalilegh’s account.
