Description
Account of the sheriff of York for 5th year. 200 marks maid to William de Filling constable of Roxburgh castle, arrears of pay and loss of horses due his people for the 5th year; £4 18s. 6d. paid to Geoffrey Edger and Nicholas of Dunsyre, Scots prisoners in York, till Michaelmas 1310; 42s. expenses of Walter Murray, a Scottish prisoner, from Nottingham to Newcastle, and Sir William de Somerville, 4 horsemen and 5 archers, his escort, for three days, there and back, that is, Walter 4d., the knight 2s., each horseman 12d., and each archer 2d. per day; 47s. 6d. expenses of Fergus of Ardrossan and William Giffard and 2 grooms, Scottish prisoners from Nottingham to Newcastle, and 5 horsemen and 10 archers escorting them, and hire of horses for their riding, three days there and back.
