Robert, king of Scots, to James lord of Douglas and his baillies of the constabulary of Jedburgh, notifying that he has granted to Melrose abbey his whole tenement of Lessudden (ROX) in pure and perpetual alms with the services of the free holders and the wards, reliefs, marriages, escheats and suits of court which belonged to his predecessors the kings of Scots. He commands and instructs James to enquire by means of the good and faithful men of the constabulary into the services due from the holdings of Maxpoffle, Heavyside, Camieston and Elliston (ROX).
