David, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful John Riddell, the lands of Cranstoun [Riddell] (MLO), which John resigned by rod and staff, having and holding by John and his legitimate heirs, failing which, by our beloved and faithful David of Annandale knight and his heirs; in feu and heritage, for service owed and wont.
