Description
David, king of Scots, to his sheriff and baillies of Forfar; because he in his full council at Perth on 11 January, the bishop of Brechin resigned a letter made under his great seal. [Document damaged] He commands them, if the bishop has not removed the [market] cross after eight days of returning to his manor at Brechin, they are to have their men do so. If they find merchants of the liberties of the cross or of relics pertaining to the guilds of Aberdeen or Montrose, and take their goods, and escheat them to the king.
