Description
David, king of Scots, has granted Newbattle abbey that they may hold in perpetuity their lands in the Vale of Leithen (PEB) in free forest with modo parcandi and penalty of parkage. He forbids anyone from hawking, hunting or fishing without their special licence, under penalty of the king's full forfeiture of ten pounds.
