Description
Malcolm, earl of Lennox, has given and granted, and established by this his present charter, to Walter Sproull his esteemed man, his whole land of Dalquhurn (in Cardross parish, DNB) with all its just pertinents and all its right bounds, for his homage and service, in feu and heritage, in merchets and in the extraction of blood, which in English is called ‘bloodwite’, with free entrance and exit to and from the said land, performing the forinsec service of the lord king in the common army and aids, which pertain to the third part of the service for one quarterland in the Lennox, for all service, custom exaction and secular demand.
