Description
Note of charter recording King Robert Bruce’s grant of various lands in Argyll to Dougal Campbell of Loch Awe and his heirs for their homage and service, viz. Kilchoan, Degnish, ‘Auchinaclosh’ (in Kilninver), ‘Auchinsaule’ (in Kilninver), Caddletone, ‘Garpynging’ (in Kilninver), Ardencaple, ‘Ragray’ (in Kilninver), Kilninver, ‘Esgeallan’ (in Kilninver), Clachan Seil, ‘Leternacrosh’ (in Kilninver), Scamadale, the one penny land of ‘Kilveran (in Kilninver)’, the one penny land of ‘Leternamuck’ (in Kilninver), and Torsa island with their pertinents. Dougal is to hold these lands of the king’s majesty and his heirs in return for the service of a ship of twenty-six oars which is to be employed in the king’s army and is to be furnished with men and victuals.
