John Burnett, son and heir of the late Henry Burnett, makes known that he holds, by loan of his lords the abbot and convent of Jedburgh Abbey £46 13s. 4d. which he shall pay to them at Restenneth by these terms: at Martinmas 1287, 1 mark and 40d., at Pentecost following 1 marks and 40d. for seven years until the debt is paid in full. Terms are applied for exceeding the seven years and for other non-payment. Because his seal is not known, he has asked Robert, bishop of Glasgow to append his seal.
