Biography
Watt, Graduates, 123: Alan may have belonged to a family which held the lands of Crichton, Midlothian, the church of which he held at some point between 1198 and 1207. He was appointed as papal judge-delegate under the name 'Master A., rector of Crichton' during this time. He might have also been in the familia of Bishop Walter of Glasgow. He is not found after 1211. (cf. Alan of Perth)
