Pope Alexander IV writes to the bishops of Dunkeld, Dunblane and Whithorn, and the abbots, priors, deans, archdeacons, arch-priests and rectors of all the churches of those diocese, reciting a bull of Honorius III, exempting the abbots and brothers of the Cistercian Order from the payment of teinds both for possessions held before the Council General (summoned by Pope I[nnocent]) and also for meadow lands acquired before or after the said Council, which they cultivate with their own hands or at their own expense. He approves this precept and commands the same.
