Description
Let it be remembered that at Birkenhead, on the day of St Peter ‘de la Gule Aust’, in the year of grace 1277, there came before the noble king of England, from the king of Scotland, the bishops of St Andrews and Dunblane, Robert de Bruce, earl of Carrick, and Richard of Straiton (Stratton), knights, bringing a letter from the king of Scotland concerning a complaint by the bishop of Durham regarding the marches.
