David, king of Scots, has inspected and truly understood a charter of confirmation by his lord father [King Robert I, inspecting a charter of David I to Holyrood abbey] and has found it neither erased nor damaged [see RRS, v, no. 410]. He approves and confirms this charter. He further wills that they may have all their lands in free regality, and that the abbot and convent may appoint the chaplain of the chapel royal.
