Description
Arnold, bishop of St Andrews, has granted and established the possessions and revenues of St Andrews Cathedral Priory, that is, from the gift of the king, the church of Linlithgow (WLO) with lands and houses within and without the burgh, and teinds, revenues, chapels and all other rights belonging to the church, and the teinds of the mill of Linlithgow; the church of Longforgan (PER) with one toft, with the teinds and rights belonging to the church from the whole shire of Longforgan; a fishery in Berwick (BWK) with the toft beside the church and another toft beside the Tweed in the same villa; a toft in Haddington (ELO); a toft in Clackmannan (CLA); wood from Clackmannan both for the canons and for his men, as occasion demands; the crossing of the sea to a ship at a sea port for them and their men and all their goods without payment; the teinds of his hides from Fife; a fishery in the Tay with their own nets; one mark from his ferme at Easter to light the church; 3 marks annually from his cain of the ships of Perth to clothe the canons; their court with liberties, immunities, pleas and disputes established by his predecessors; the liberty given to the canons about full forfeiture that no one shall take poinds from them or their land for any forfeiture or debt except their own; from the gift of King Mael Coluim, half a ploughgate of land at the church of Longforgan and a fishery in the Tay; from the gift of Bishop Robert, the hospital of St Andrews for guests and poor pilgrims, with lands, possessions and revenues belonging to the hospital, the lands of Balrymonth (FIF), Stravithie (FIF), Cassindonald (FIF), Drumcarro (FIF), Ladeddie (FIF), Strathkinness (FIF) and the other Strathkinness in exchange for Kininis and Lambieletham (FIF) which the céli Dé have, ‘Balhucca’ (FIF), Rummond (FIF), Pitoutie (FIF), Balgove (FIF) with a saltpan, ‘Kinnastare’ (FIF), ‘Kinnamone’ (FIF), ‘Drumsach’ (FIF), Baldinnie (FIF), ‘Egglesnamin’ (FIF), ‘Balochen’ (FIF), Scooniehill (FIF), Kinninmonth (FIF) with the whole shire and with a toft in Kilrymont (FIF); three tofts in the burgh of St Andrews (FIF); the mill of Kilrymont; the mill of Peekie (FIF); the mill of Nydie (FIF); the free election of the prior; from the bishop’s own donation, the church of Dairsie (FIF) with the lands, teinds and offerings belonging to it and one ploughgate of land; the chapel of Fowlis Easter (ANG) with all its appurtenances; the teinds of all the bishop’s pleas, both secular and ecclesiastical, and of all his reliefs; all the offerings of the altar complete and unimpaired and without the disbursement of any part; from the donation of Matthew archdeacon of St Andrews, Rossie (PER) with its rightful bounds and the church of the same villa with everything belonging to the church.
