Biography
Handbook of British Chronology, 499: Gilchrist was the younger son of Gille Brigte, earl of Angus (d.×1189), and succeeded his elder brother, Adam, as earl, upon Adam's death before 17 March 1199. Gilchrist died before 11 April 1206. Also had brothers Gilbert, William and Angus.
